Tamarind Machine

Tamarind De-Husker

Strip outer husks quickly for clean downstream processing

About This Machine

The Tamarind De-Husker is the first machine in a tamarind processing line, and one of the most impactful. Raw tamarind pods arrive from the farm with a brittle outer shell that must be removed before any further processing can happen. Removing this by hand is slow, repetitive, and costly — the De-Husker replaces that entire step with a high-speed mechanical process.

With a throughput of 200–300 kg per hour, the De-Husker can handle the output of a large farm delivery in a fraction of the time it would take manually. The machine strips the outer husk cleanly without damaging the pulp inside, ensuring that what comes out is clean, intact tamarind ready for de-seeding, block-making, or direct sale. It is designed for continuous operation, meaning it can run for full working shifts without overheating or requiring frequent stops.

The compact 3×4×3 ft footprint means it can be installed in most existing shed or warehouse spaces without modification. Running on a single-phase 1 hp motor, it requires no special electrical infrastructure. Low maintenance design and locally available replacement parts keep downtime minimal and running costs low — important for any processing operation with seasonal volume demands.
